Refresh Your Leadership Habits

Refresh Your Leadership Habits

There’s something about the arrival of spring that inspires a sense of renewal. It’s a time to open the windows, clear out the clutter, and make space for what matters most. As leaders, we can apply the same principles to our habits and mindsets.

This March, I’m doing a little “leadership spring cleaning.” I’m letting go of perfectionism, indecisiveness, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with trying to do it all. These habits have served as roadblocks, keeping me stuck in patterns that no longer align with my goals or values.

Here are four steps to refresh your leadership habits:

  • Identify What’s Not Working: Take inventory of the habits or mindsets that are holding you back. Be honest with yourself about what’s no longer serving you.
  • Let Go with Intention: Whether it’s perfectionism, overcommitment, or self-doubt, commit to releasing these patterns. Replace them with practices that align with your values.
  • Embrace New Habits: Introduce habits that support your growth, such as energy management techniques, a consistent nighttime routine, or improved delegation skills.
  • Celebrate Progress: Recognize and celebrate even small changes. Progress builds momentum and reinforces your commitment to growth.

What habits or mindsets are you ready to let go of this spring? Take a moment to reflect and make a list. Then, commit to replacing them with practices that support your growth. Spring is a time for renewal—let’s make it count.

With gratitude,

Vitale
