Protecting the Progress You’ve Made
Protecting the Progress You’ve Made
May always feels like a season of acceleration—projects pick up, calendars fill up, and suddenly
summer’s around the corner. It’s tempting to go into overdrive, but I’ve learned that momentum
without boundaries often leads to burnout.
This year, I’m more focused than ever on protecting the progress I’ve made.
Whether you’re in a season of growth or feeling the strain of being stretched too thin, boundaries
aren’t barriers—they’re bridges to sustainable success.
Here are three boundary reminders I’m holding close this month—and how you can apply them
too:
1. Every “Yes” is a “No” to Something Else
It’s easy to say yes to opportunities, requests, or meetings—but every yes takes time and energy away
from something else.
Action: Before agreeing to anything new this month, pause and ask: What am I saying no to if I
say yes to this? Write it down to make the tradeoff real.
2. Your Bandwidth is Your Responsibility
No one else will manage your energy for you. As your responsibilities grow, so must your
intentionality.
Action: Do a quick Friday calendar audit. Highlight what drained you and what energized
you. Then, remove or delegate one task next week that doesn’t align with your top priorities.
3. It’s Okay to Shift Gears
Just because something was working before doesn’t mean it still serves you. Momentum isn’t about
speed—it’s about alignment.
Action: Choose one area where you’ve been pushing through. Ask yourself: Is this still
working? If not, give yourself permission to shift course or ask for help.
You’ve worked hard to build momentum this year. Boundaries are how you protect it—so you can
keep going without burning out.
